Just had a good look at my much neglected yabbie tanks and give them a quick clean and found that a few of the females have berries woo hoo.

My 2 females were too :( Until my mastweiller decided to bob for them and eat them :( But still left with a few. Plus looking into seeing if I can import Marrion into NSW, waiting to hear from DPI as we live close to a creek I might not be able to :(

If it's no go with the marron, consider redclaw. They are very prolific breeders and grow at an incredible rate.

The DPI may not allow them either, they are a declared pest outside of their natural waterways in the Gulf country and even here in central Qld, it is illegal to move them to different locations.

    Jeff

A mate of mine used to farm redclaws just out side of Bundy years ago.
I am quite happy with our bluey's if I can't get the Marrion approved. :)
