People can take photos any time any where now which could be shared and enjoyed by all. Other forums have heaps of photos. What do we have a forum of the same few people posting its become a seniors club I am sorry to say. We seem to be behind here in Vic, as in we haven&#039;t had the severe fire activity yet that Qld and NSW has had.  But it is only a matter of time as Vic is deemed to be the highest risk area for fires in Aus...unless things have changed.<br />

Much has been said/written in here about our rivers and the potentially dismal future of many. I have joined in and made comment too about growing up in western Vic and fishing in our old river, the Woady Yalloak. It was a wonderful old river, especially to a local kid who &#039;knew&#039; its waters and its ways. My first and many others, including my biggest Australian trout came from her waters.<br />

There&#039;s piles of black ash and debris around the shores in places but the water was clean. The sky is still completely covered by smoke and fires a few kilometres away were seen, still burning strongly. The fishing wasn&#039;t too bad. Right down past the boatshed cafe, less than a kilometre from the entrance, we threw SPs around for a while, boating a couple of keeper flathead, small snapper,...<br />

I was after a Snake that went in behind all these Terracotta pots that had been there for years. Pulling them out They were covered in Snails and  Slugs and seeing as the Brown must have squeezed in between a pile of bricks and there was no way that I was pulling them out and putting back so he will live another day or two.<br />
Having collected a 1 litre Ice cream container full of both more to remove them than use that many...<br />

Has anyone heard of a platypus in salt water?<br />
When out with Bill a couple of weeks ago, in his boat so he was driving; we passed something in the water that was only a metre from the boat, on my side. <br />
It was brown, about a foot long and definitely had fur.<br />
I asked Bill to go back and check it out. He did. We never saw it again.<br />
No, I had not been sipping sambuca with Diesel the previous night.<br />
No, I did not have four &#039;reds&#039; with breakfast.<br />

Over the years there&#039;s been many changes in TBX. It virtually collapsed some time ago for various reasons and was then reinvigorated. Many of these forums struggle at times, I suggest that&#039;s often due to the attitudes of some people when using this sort of thing as a public media base, who believe they can talk and act like first rate hoons on the forum.
