I went for a fish hoping to catch a Redfin ot two but no luck. My first Fish bite was quite delicate then a pull on my ilb quiver tip I lifted the rod and what ever was on the line was not moving I knew it was a fish because it was shaking its head. now at this stage I was trying out for the first time suffix advance 6 lb mono on a 1 - 3 kg rod with my Daiwa bg 2500.
Any way a after awhile it slowly came towards me and then turned and ran about 10 meters this happened a few times after what seemed for ever I eventually got it in well almost the short sized no 6 bait holder hook gave way so I quickly stepped in and pushed it a shore. Well I have never had a Cod act like this before. so after measuring it at 750mm exactly I reckon a few boys would like one of these on sunday. I took a photo with the measure before I returned it back in the lake and sent to Jim as I cant send photos. I then caught a 300 mm Carp killed it next minute a Pelican swam into the lake with it and three twists it had gone I didnt see it go down its neck. I finished up with another Cod 340mm as well.
I will add I dont fish for Natives if I did it would be with 12 lbs mono which is big enough in this Lake.I reckon 90% of the fish I catch would be 2lbs or under

No snags, Or it would have been a certain bust off. I chose that spot because of a few Rocks around, but I don’t think there was that many in the water to make any difference.
