My Christmas present is coming a little early, Lyn just ordered me a mobile SOS alarm with fall detector, GPS and Google Map tracking and 5 contact number program. This means a little bit more freedom for me. Fishing at the 2 local Lakes near home will become more regular.

Great comments. I note too that it's waterproof, so there's no damage to Lyn's gift if you fall in.

Having GPS, can you program in your favourite fishing spots, Kev?

No such luck Jeff. But I know it works, yesterday I was programming in another feature when oh sh#t the OOO operator and our Son responded to the call. So due to fat and shakey fingers I'll leave the programming of features to Lyn.

Hi Blair, yes it is connected to a mobile network when you receive the alarm, they do a check on the best network coverage to suit you Optus, Telstra etc. Mine is connected to Telstra who has a better coverage, it is not locked into any contract. The first year network fee is covered under your purchase, it costs $45 per year after that. No other hidden charges for emergency calls or text.

G'day Kev. If for example the owner was rendered unconscious; does the device activate or must you activate it?

Hi Noel, they can be activated by a fall detector that I will program into it later today, other than that you have to press the SOS button. I have been told that overseas there is an alarm that works on your heart beat.
