To this eagle eyed bystander, as an adjudicator, I'd accept 74.5cm with some sadness for the 'bendy' one.

I'll be in Canberra on Monday. If I can catch a hundred or so, I'll consider bring them back and release them in the estuary.
    How quickly do they grow?

Left out with no carp. Not fair.

Actually thats a good question Noel, obviously they can grow quickly if not over populated. I believe the gippesland lakes are infested with them and I think they are brackish.
    cheers Pete

So correct me if I am wrong but as it stands, I need a fish greater than 75 to go ahead of Madfisher and claim the overall lead, or a carp at 74 will at least ensure I beat my arch nemesis...Cornfields?!!!

Excuse my inability to comprehend this thread but the problem is when I see fellow members attempts here, I end up rolling around on the floor p!ssing myself laughing!
    Cheers

Sorry Noelene, I forgot about you!

I know you lack carp in your local area Noel but I guess you have caught them before?

Yes. While living in Queanbeyan we had plenty in the river only a hundred metres from home. Only chased them a couple of times on fly.

Good bit of fun guys, keep it up. By the way we are going back out to my little dam next week for 3 days, although the grand kids will be in tow.
I am trying to get my old mate Bob to join the forum, fishs two days a week on fly. He is getting closer to my pb of 9.26kg.

Worthy of a record claim for the biggest carp ever caught on a metal lure designed for pelagics.
Certainly has a 'mirror' look about it. On a single handed rod too.
    Congratulations
    Noel.
Honest is a great policy (when you find such classic examples)

What landlocked impoundment did you get that in Blair? And what bait were you using?

Tasman Dam near Sydney , adjacent to Pacific dam, 30 gram micro jig silver/blue but don't tell anybody. 40/45 meters depth.
Damm just given away 3 carp secrets.

Goat : not secretive enough to win fishing comps.

Float tube Noel, about 5 kilometres out probably 40 kilometre return trip, gee my legs were sore from paddling. I wouldn't give myself an unfair advantage going out in my centerconsole bassmaster that cruises at 50 kph.
