Another session on the channel tonight. A few good bites but nothing landed, except a turtle. I used a bait that is sold by the local Compleat Angler store. Chicken soaked in different oils...they call it ' Chickens Hit'!!! They gave me a bag for free to try as they wanted some feedback. Not a fan of buying bait but the stuff does work. May target carp next time around. Cheers Team Old Age Mutant Ninja Turtle
Went out today for an unarmed recon around Waranga Basin. Despite my mate telling me one of the channels now had 'no access' signs, it wasn't the case...sort of! One side of the channel is still fine as it has no sign! The basin itself is not looking too bad. Rather featureless but the fish do get into the shallows at night to feed. Would be better if the water level was rising but anything will do at this time! cheers Team Bender Trusts Mr Percival to show where the fish are!
signs can be removed , once seen a large sign freshly put up blocking the track to a good surfing spot accidently get backed into by a 4wd the sign shattered into small pieces. Whith a bit of luck someone might remove the "no" from the pointless sign.
Not an option with me in the case of these signs. Put in place by the local water authority, GMW, the signs often indicate possibly dangerous places where people have lost their lives as in the case where I visited the other day. I had also been told that concrete barriers had been put in place which may have stopped me from accessing it. As it is, I can access it and with their being no sign there, I now feel comfortable going down there. As for four wheel drives 'accidentally' removing signs, there has been a lot of damage (read vandalism) done previously at this site and no doubt some of it done by 4 x 4's. And everytime it happens, fencing etc improves until the next moron comes along! Now there are concrete barriers to stop the wankers. There are small 'authorised persons only' signs at other channels I fish and I ignore them. I know GMW staff are not concerned with people accessing them if you are fishing. But if you ignore signs in a few locations where people have drowned, you will be asked to leave. I try to avoid that. Cheers Team Bender Judges a sign's importance by its size!
