Ha well if Trelly's find out the world will. Rohan (RJK) is from over the Campaspe way so I think it would be somewhere between Shepparton and Rochester/Elmore. Hope that narrows it down for you
Exactly what do you mean by mad Jed? Comic or serious? Noel Welcome aboard. There's a good bunch of blokes on here.
Hey Noel, Mad as in crazy (old person trying to be young maybe, or a throw back to my youth days in the early 80's ha) . Thanks for the Welcome. Cheers Jed
Went out late arvo after work with one of my work mates. We used to do a lot of fishing together but then his job got in the way. His workload has eased so we went fishing together for maybe the first time in 4 years!!! And hostilities picked up where they left off! A channel not too far from work was the location. Water flow and clarity was good. First lure of choice was a Rapala Scatter Rap CD lure. I didn't get a pic of it...nor will I get a pic of it! It didn't last long before lost! Next choice was a Rapala Xrap Countdown. This one scored me my only fish for the arvo...a redfin around 15 cm's long. Unfortunately it wasn't good enough to beat my mate. He hooked a redfin around the 20 cm mark fishing from this regulator. He called out to me, something along the lines of 'suck eggs #$%^' whilst holding the redfin suspended from his rod and line. With that the fish flicked off and landed back in the water. He still claimed it although he lost it! That is my story anyway. As I was fishing from the other reg I felt water splashing over my back and head. Said mate had caught another small reddie and threw a rock in the water behind me to get my attention! The redfin I got may have been the first reddie in a couple years and first fish for a year and a half on a lure! The reddie also christened my Daiwa rod and reel. Both old models of which I think may have been sitting in the local tackle store for years before I purchased them over a year ago. cheers Team Bender Back in business!
Another session today...Bender vs Daggers Dave from Nagas! Bender didn't fare to well! Neither of us got any fish on bait (yabbies and worms) but DD used soft plastics and that made the difference to the tune of about 5 redfin to my nil! Best was around 30 cm's. The effectiveness of the plastics was amazing. Two snakes were sighted so that was fun! A rather windy day but still good to be out there. I tried one of my cheap combos hoping I could break it in but alas, no luck. The reel used was the rear drag Shimano IX...what CC uses to slaughter carp. The channels are looking rather good so far this year. cheers Team Bender Still reelin' from the defeat!
To be blunt Kev; not good. Major surgery (4 to 6 hours) mid Nov, While being monitored last week, thousands of extra heart beats that must be stopped as quickly as possible were found. Rajeev, (medico) who I told him, has my total trust, tells us he is one of only half a dozen in the world who can do this operation and that Canberra Capital Private hospital is now the best of its kind in the world. Questioning that big statement, he told us of the many countries and cities in the world where he has operated and said again that Canberra Capital is better than any of them. Can we ask much more that that combination? Not likely. Breathing is a major issue, resulting in a lack of oxygen. This in turn damages many other things. The operation has always been in the fringes but always rated as THE last resort. I had said I wouldn't do it but have now agreed. Give everything your best shot they say. There's a fair risk factor built into it all and had I been a couple of years older it was not an option. Hence the risk element is higher. Meantime I'm going to fish till I drop and live every minute. Thank you for the interest and the support from all the guys. You've been a big moral support to us. Noel.
I would normally say take things easy, but you wouldn't bloody listen. Get out there and enjoy yourself show those flatties who's the boss. Tight lines old mate.
Yeah, you're right Kev, but who are you to talk? With all your problems you're still out there having a go. Let's be a bit egotistic mate. Let's just say you can't keep good men down. Hell!!!! I never knew I was that good---- Noel
