Thank's for the photo Chook, that mud sucker is well within the rules. But unfortunately is not the winning size, keep trying.

Just a clarification of the rules, the carp must be over 9 cm and under 60 cm to qualify, and must be caught on a rod and reel.

Over 9 cm [ Winning size is somewhere between 9 & 60 cm] Under 60 cm

Just a 'heads up' as I am a nice guy! I am going carp hunting this coming Friday...so consider comp over when I am able to download pics Saturday! Whilst I could go to the location that I fished Pirtek (this would give me every size imaginable in 2 mm increments ranging from 5 cm's to 40 cm's), I may go to another location in hope of a native, but still a good chance of carp. Glory awaits!
    cheers

Ok...I headed out to the Nine Mile Creek in search of a winning carp last Thursday. The creek had dropped a lot. This surprised me. I knew the irrigation levels would have been lowered but with the rain we had I thought it would still be relatively high! But it wasn't and it really is irrelevant anyway! I was using corn for bait...some of it colored black with food dye. I think this makes it stand out in murky water. Bites were consistent and it wasn't too long before I had my first carp on the bank. Bites were actually too consistent and it was annoying as it was interfering with my coffee drinking!

So...I pulled out one of the rods and just concentrated on one rod. I ended up with 3 carp for the day. If I wanted to be a bit more serious I could have got more than a dozen. I stayed there until about 730pm and the fish were still active. But it was difficult to drag myself away from this!:)

I did get two fish for the comp anyway. This one at 29 cm's.

I am not sure if we are rounding off too whole numbers but this one was just a tad over 26.5 cm's. So I am happy to call it 26.5!

I may not be fishing for a couple weeks so this could be my last attempt at this comp for a while.
    cheers

This forum needs a 'f*** you' button! Comp may be over by the time I go next Kev. Some time over the next few months I may run a comp and put up a prize.
    cheers

Nice pic's there blender, least you got some fish in them this time:cool:
Looks more like you've moved in:eek: rather than gone fishing for the arvo,or are you just practising for your cowardly retreat into NSW to avoid the humiliation of defeat in this comp.
You know i can't compete in this one due to ethical reason's so i will look forward to any comp that gives me a chance to go head to head with you.
Remember coffee is a stimulant, think "coiled spring's"and your fishing should come good;)
