Yeh it's a bit of fun, but you do need a good stretch of water with no boats around to really enjoy it.

My pride and joy. Custom Craft 670. 5 ltr V8 Volvo Penta sterndrive. Electronics is Lowrance LCX17M dual frequency sounder / chartplotter combo. Surprisingly good on juice too, about 1.2 km / ltr.

Stacer 5.25 Bow Rider...90 hp Optimax. Use for round Islands.
Also a 32 ft Yacht. which I use to go out to the Outer Islands. Lady Musgrave/Elliot.The outer reef. and up to the Whitsundays. for weeks at a time... Real cheap to run. But takes a long time to get there.....
Ah well I'm retired. and it gets me and the 2 cats. out of the missus hair.

    Regards

Hi I dont have pics as yet but first I bought two sea kayaks then a 9ft tinny with a 9.5hp evinrude sportwin o/b and found it difficult to manouver inside so a week later I bought a 1980 5mt Swift Craft half cab with 100hp o/b and a 7.2hp mercury aux. it has a lawrence depth sounder and I also have a Navman sounder, I got a Navman gps, 4 rods new tackle and a brand new boat and personal w/craft licence. Towed on a Dunbier trailer behind my 71 XY Falcon ute. when I get some pics organised I'll post them.

    My boat

I have a Clark 4.3m, with 40HP Mariner Magnum. Its old, its slow, it leaks like a sieve, but it still helps me catch fish.

    40HP with tilt and trim
    forward steer
    Hummingbird Dx250 Sounder
    27Meg Radio
    CD Player

    $800.00
    Hard to beat i reckon,.

Lockym, how do you find the dx250 sounder? I have one and only use it for the depth feature, as for the fish finding i find it useless!

Yeah wombat, I essentially only use it for depth..it came with the boat and I can't afford anything better..I don't reckon the depth is that accurate anyway,.., and I haven't caught any of the fish I has seen on it either..

It has a speed indicator, and I'm still having trouble getting it to work properly..

    Thought as much!
I find the depth feature fluctuates alot , haven't connected the speed indicator at all, but it does stop me running aground when i'm not watching what i'm doing!

I've just bought my first boat, it looks like a matchbox car compared to most of yours, its a Stacer 3.7m Riverra with a 7.5 hp mercury. Bought it 2nd hand for $900 seems to be in good nick.

Got to start some where Jeff!
My first boat was a 10ft tinny with a 4hp mariner.
Myself and 2 mates would fish Eppalock in it, don't know how we ever managed or fitted in it!!

as long as it floats you will have fun!
